Skipton
Welcome to Skipton station, which is approximately 800m from the town centre.
Here the station can be seen from Broughton Road. The car park is found off this road in front of the station.
Skipton has 4 disabled parking bays for customers who hold blue badge passes.
Skipton station has a small shop, a ticket office and ticket barriers. Barriers will always have a member of staff nearby to help.
Paper tickets can be purchased from here, the ticket office. The ticket office also has an induction loop.
You pass through the barriers to platform 2. For platform 1 turn left. For platforms 3 and 4 turn right and use the station underpass.
Skipton station has two toilets for people with disabilities. These are on platform 2 close to where it meets platform 1.
Inside the toilet there are grab handles, a pull chord for emergency assistance, and ample space for a wheelchair.
Platform 1 is for Southbound services to either Leeds or Bradford.
Platform 2 is for trains heading South to Leeds or Bradford but can also have trains heading North. There are displays and station announcements to inform you about your train.
Platforms 3 and 4 are accessed via the underpass. This slopes down at a gradient of 6.5 degrees and can be slippery.
The gradient is the same on both sides of the underpass.
Platforms 3 and 4 serve trains going South to Leeds or Bradford but also trains heading North to Carlisle and Lancaster.
Between platforms 3 and 4 there is a customer waiting room with seating and some information about the heritage of Skipton station.
