Lancaster

Welcome to Lancaster Station, which is approximately a 650m walk from the historic city centre and has a large range of facilities.

Lancaster station has two main entrances. One entrance can be found off Station Road, on the side of platforms 1,2 and 3.

Another entrance can be found off Westbourne Road on the side of platforms 4 and 5 and the ticket office.

Outside the entrance on Station Road there is a bus stop and taxi rank.

Platform 3 can be accessed directly from the entrance on Station Road. Platforms 4 and 5 can be accessed via steps or a lift found on platform 3.

Platform 3 has customer toilets, including a disabled toilet.

Platform 3 is primarily used for Avanti West Coast services and Transpennine Express services heading North.

There is a significant capacity for bike storage at this station, including here in front of platforms 1 and 2.

Platforms 1 and 2 are at the North end of platform 3 and are terminating bay platforms. There is also a pedestrian entrance next to platform 1.

There is a footbridge at this station connecting platforms 1, 2 and 3 to platforms 4 and 5. It can also be used to access the ticket office.

Platform 4 is the primary platform for heading South towards Preston, Manchester, and London. A café and waiting room can also be found on this platform.

Platform 5 is used by services heading to various locations. There are also toilets between platforms 4 and 5.

The ticket office is staffed by our lovely Avanti West Coast colleagues from 5:15 to 19:45 Monday to Saturday and 9:30 to 20:00 on Sunday.

A pedestrian entrance can be found outside the ticket office which leads to West Road.

It has recently been announced that a Changing Places facility will soon be installed at Lancaster station, complete with changing bench and shower, and hoist.
