Carnforth
Welcome to Carnforth station, home of the classic film “Brief Encounter”.
Carnforth station has a large car park and is a short 175m walk from Market Street and the post office.
Station information can be found on entrance to the car park and also on platforms.
The famous heritage centre can be found adjacent to platform 1.
The station entrance is at the far end of the car park and can be found through the red and green gates. Bike storage can also be found here.
Platforms are accessed via an underpass system, with ramps at a gradient of approximately 6 degrees up and down from platforms.
As you enter the underpass from the car park, turn right up the first ramp to access platform 1 and the heritage centre.
Platform 2 is accessible from the far side ramp.
Platform 1 has ticket vending machines and is for services heading south to Lancaster and further afield.
The famous heritage centre can be found adjacent to platform 1.
Platform 2 is for services heading towards Barrow-in-Furness and further afield, as well as trains heading back towards Leeds down the Bentham Line.
Please note that there is an above average step across to the train from the platform in places due to the curved platforms.
Thank you for watching our 360 video tour. We hope you enjoy your journey on the Bentham line.
