Dementia club enjoys day out on scenic railway
Twenty-six members of the Skipton Dementia Hub recently travelled to Carnforth on the Bentham Dementia Friendly Line.
The group left Skipton at 10.57 arriving at Carnforth shortly before 12.00. Everyone enjoyed the excellent meal produced by The Brief Encounter Bistro.
There was then time for members of the group to visit the Heritage Centre, even taking time to sit in the cinema seats to watch some of Brief Encounter, much of which was filmed at Carnforth Station in 1945.
The group left Carnforth shortly before 3pm for the return journey to Skipton.
The members of Skipton Dementia Hub were very appreciative of the wonderful views on the train ride and all expressed their thanks to both Bentham Dementia Friendly Line and Northern Rail. The group meets Thursday mornings fortnightly in Skipton Rugby Club.
